About the event
Flowering of the cross acts for the transition from Good Friday to Easter. It is the meditation on Jesus' death to the joyful celebration of HIS resurrection. It is the transforming of a barren cross, reminding us of Jesus' death, into a beautiful Easter symbol.
Flowering of the Cross at Millfield:
The cross will be be placed to the left of Millfield’s front steps on the ground this SATURDAY, April 3rd. Please bring any blooms of flowers, shrubs, or greenery you have in your yard to adorn the the cross. Please feel free to leave any extra clippings you may have for the next person to possibly use. Place your clippings on the cross anytime Saturday morning between the hours of 8am-12:30pm or after 5:00pm. We ask that you NOT come between 12:30pm-5:00pm as we will be hosting a wedding at the church during this time frame. PLEASE OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING. If someone is there, please wait for them to leave. The cross will be outside Sunday morning for you to put your blooms and greenery in prior to church service also, for those who will be coming Easter Sunday. Let’s fill the cross on Saturday & Easter Sunday morning so that it will be beautiful for Easter! Don't forget to take your picture with the cross when you adorn it and text it to Victoria Goodrich to share on the FB page with others.
