Interim Pastors

Since November 1, 2019 we have been blessed by having two Interim Pastors in place. They have been sharing the duties to help us through this time of transition. Each Pastor has been preaching two Sundays a month and take turns when there is a fifth Sunday. Wednesdays are the designated day for one of them to be at the church or in the area. They also are available throughout the month for needs that may arise. Our Interim's will be in place until God leads the Pastor Search Team to the full-time Pastor HE has in store for us.

Pastor Michael Gregory is one of two interim pastors at Millfield Baptist Church, along with the Rev. Skip Irby.  Michael and his wife Tricia, who recently retired after teaching school for 44 years, live in Richmond.  A few years ago Michael retired from full-time ministry after serving 10 years as pastor of St. Stephens Baptist Church in the Mid-Tidewater Baptist Association, and for the past few years has done interim work and guest preaching. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education from Trinity College, and a Masters in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary. He and Tricia have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren.

Pastor T. Floyd Irby, Jr. (Skip) is a native Virginian and a graduate of the University of Virginia and Andover Newton Theological School (Boston, MA). He served as the pastor of Nomini Baptist Church in Montross, VA from 1974-86 and of West End Baptist Church in Suffolk from 1986-2011.  From 2012-17 he served in interim ministry with three congregations (two Baptist churches and one Disciples of Christ church). He and his wife Chris reside in Suffolk and have 5 adult children and 10 grandchildren.
